Day, and editor of the Martin County Sentinel in Fairmont, Minnesota (1877-1880), and editor and owner of the Jackson Republic (1880-1886), Jackson, Minnesota, and The Hutchinson Leader (1887-1919), Hutchinson, Minnesota. In 1886, Day was elected assistant secretary of the Minnesota Senate and served during the 1887 and 1888 sessions. Includes a photocopy of a letter from Day's daughter to the Minnesota Historical Society remarking on the biographical sketch.
